Woman Arrested After Urinating in Front of Restaurant Customers

A woman is facing charges after she reportedly pulled her pants down and began urinating in front of patrons at a restaurant. An officer on duty was patrolling Gettysburg’s 3rd Ward when a patron of a restaurant began to signal the officer to stop their vehicle and reported that an intoxicated woman was peeing in front of the restaurant, according to reported posted by the Gettysburg Police Department.

The female began to pull her pants up as police approached, the report said, but she left visible evidence in the form of a puddle to support the claims of public urination. Police said the incident occurred within 5 feet of those dining outside.

The woman then became argumentative and belligerent with the officer, indicating to them that she was clearly and obviously intoxicated. She attempted to run away from the officers and get into her own vehicle, but was stopped by the officers, police said.

Once at the prison, the woman continued to be uncooperative. She shouted at staff members and told them to perform acts of an obscene nature on her. The woman was cited for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, police said. Her identity was not released.

In Richmond, 2 Public Space Protection Orders which aim to address anti-social activities in Richmond have been renewed after a public consultation. The current orders were introduced in October 2017 to tackle persistent problems in parks and public spaces.

But after three years the measures needed to be updated. Consulting with residents, landowners and the Police, the Council has drawn up new proposals.

These target behaviours such as disorderly drunkenness, the use of BBQs, unauthorised entrance into parks, dog fouling, public urination and defecation and the use of drones. Most park visitors are conscientious; however, a small minority are not, and this can spoil the enjoyment for everyone else.

One PSPOs tackles excessive consumption of alcohol, public urination and defecation, and damage to land. The other focuses on responsibilities relating to dogs, including the number of dogs that can be walked at a time by one person.
