Wayne County Woman Accused Of Child Pornography

 A 32-year-old Wayne County woman has been accused by Michigan State Police in multiple investigations into the production and distribution of child pornography.


The Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force announced Thursday that Chelsea Nicole Dunbar, of Romulus, had been charged with multiple counts of production, distribution, and aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and first-degree criminal sexual conduct.


Authorities said the investigation began in June, when law enforcement became aware of Dunbar possessing files of child pornography. Further investigation revealed a child victim in the case, police said. A search warrant was executed in Romulus, where Dunbar was taken into custody and the child victim was accounted for, police said.


During the investigation, task force members said they became aware that the Detroit Police Department was investigating another internet account used by Dunbar for child sexually abusive material and criminal sexual conduct activity. MSP assisted DPD in their investigation and execution of a search warrant in Southfield at a residence identified in the DPD reports, police said.


Dunbar was arraigned June 8 at the 34th District Court on one count of criminal sexual conduct 1st degree, one count of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, one count of using computers to commit a crime, one count of aggravated distributing or promoting child sexually abusive material, one count of distributing child sexually abusive material, one count of using computers to communicate with another to commit a crime, and one count of aggravated child sexually abusive activity.
